To Keep You Going

Sermon Sunday's are so bolstering and soothing. I learn so much during and even more after, as the words and their meaning burrow deep into my heart, mind, and being.
Some simple yet meaningful things heard today from Alistair Begg's sermon Love In Action. This was on the truth for life app that I have on my smart phone. If you have yet to discover these portable ministries, you need to check them out. It's great when health, finances, work, family, and other responsibilities make attending church impossible.
Today’s focus was on Romans chapter 12
Who defines love today in our society and in your life? Is it the latest celebrity? A romantic movie? Or a love song that is presently popular on the charts?

Don't copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2

The Christian is the one who is always engaged in serving the Lord.
Work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for man.
Remember that the joy that is in us does not smother affliction.
This means we must practise prayer, connecting with God, leaning on Him during our struggles, and not allowing the enemy to try to take from us the comfort of this God given gift of connectedness. The enemy cannot take it from any of us. Do not forget that every morning when you awaken, it has been the Lord who has watched over you, kept you safe, seen you through the night. Giving you the chance, when you rise, to do, be, and fulfill all that He has planned for you.
This is why we must learn to be,
Faithful in affliction and Joyful in Hope.

Do not allow laziness or lethargy to take over your life.
As a door turns on it's hinges, so does a lazy man on his bed.
Let us not become weary in doing good.

Society is marred by a pervasive sadness, sense of futility, and helplessness. We ask that the light and love of our Father, Abba, fill our hearts, mind's, bodies and soul's. Help us to be steadfast and loving to God's people, always holding tightly to what is good, delighting in honouring each other, loving with genuine affection. In Jesus name, selah.
