DIY Upcycled Holder, Christmas DIY Continues

Today is a fun and easy DIY project that I enjoy because it's all about recycling and making ordinary things useful again, so they don't end up adding to our landfills.
Plus, they are good for storing stuff in, anything arts & crafts related like pencils, pens, markers, or scissors. I also use them to hold holiday fake plants in to decorate our tables or shelves, you could even grow herbs in them.

 

 

  

Take an old tea container, wipe it out with a slightly moist cloth and make sure it's dry and clean.

  

Get out your glitter washi tape and any stickers or items you want to stick on using a glue gun.

 Cut your sparkle tape of choice to fit once around the body of the tea container, so it covers and meets end to end. Don't over lap the ends and don't cut too short. Remove the back of the sticker tape to expose the sticky part and begin wrapping one round at a time until the whole body of the tea container is covered. Feel free to mix it up, use different colours and kinds of washi sticky tape, have fun and get creative!

  

                                                  

Then add 3-D stickers, any floral or Christmas decorative items that fit. Not too big or too gaudy, you want them to look sweet and decorative, plus you want the person you give this to to actually want to use them. I use mine all the time, it's at my work desk and I am glad to have something so cute to hold my colourful pens and markers. Feel free to add some cool pens and markers as part of this DIY gift, that will be much appreciated for the upcoming semester and new work year on the way.

                                                  

                                                    

I have been making these for a friend's little nephew, who is presently stuck on the colour lime. He wants lime decorations in his room, so I suggested some simple additions of colour with black chalk board paint or decals to tone down the lime. I thought this would be a fun thing for him to place his pencils and extra stuff in.
