Market Adventure's

A very blessed and happy Saturday morning to one and all!
I am so psyched, had an awesome Friday for which I feel very blessed and totally grateful to God for. Some fun stuff in the works but will leave that for another day.
Today, I need to show you some cooliosity from our Asian market adventure! We went to our usual C&T store but they didn't have the tofu puffs my mom wanted, after tasting my recipe for vegetarian Chinese BBQ with lemongrass. She has been wanting me to make more as I made a big jar of my homemade sauce and I made her eat meatless the other night, much to her surprise and quickly emptied plate, she became nutty for it. It did taste great and look good, see for yourself:

So when C&T was a bust we ended up going to Marche Kim Phat and it was brimming with Korean/Asian specialties that made my heart sing! I needed salted cod for my Ackee and Saltfish recipe. What am I talking about? Why this delicious Jamaican National dish that is marvelous:

Ackee look like this and come in tins:

They are an imported product from Jamaica and can only be found in cans here.

I was tripping out at the fish section part, the store smelled super clean and did not have a fishy smell at all; so I was quite surprised to see the stunning department. All fish mongers have a pretty strong smell, some less pleasant than others, this place had almost nil unless you were right up on it. Well done!

Live oysters! These were super big and heavy, some other customer's and I were marveling and I had to pick it up. So amazing, they kept warning me not to get my fingers caught. Like I was a big kid, hilarious!

           Giant crab mania!

           Lobster lounging!

Eels, which I had never seen up close and just said, "Eek & Cool!"

Loads of fish swimming, can you see the snails in the corner slowly making the climb?
   Buckets of snails a sneakin'!

Bonito shavings, these I could not find anywhere for less than $18! Too steep for my budget and the bags were too big, then I found this little guy for about $6! I was a happy, Macrobiotic recipes, here I come woman.

Noni tea! Never had this before, I know of Noni juice but tea? Testing it out, it was under $2!

My personal happy moment, Mochi with red bean...yum!
I almost forgot to show you the inside before I scarfed it all down, oops!
So much fun! So all in all a great day and I will be posting recipes for you along with getting back to Valentine's DIY Love!

Have a delightful day and God Bless!
